Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe

From the 11th to the 15th of April 2011, the second part of the Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe(PACE) will be organised in Srasbourg.
The members of the Parliament that form the PACE come from the national Parliaments of the 47 state members of the Organisation. They join together four times a year in order to discuss current issues and to demand the European governments to take initiatives. These memebers of Parliament speak for the 800 million Europeans that elected them. They discuss the topics of their own choice, and the governments of the European countries represented in the Council of Europe by the Committee of Ministers are required to answer them. They represent the democratic awareness of the European Union.
